October's TBR List
Hey, hi, hello there friends.
It was foggy outside my window this morning so that means October has officially begun. My unironic love for spooky season can be constrained by no mortal. I real dang excited and I'm going to cover to my house in pumpkins and it's going to be great.
But let's get to the books.
Full disclosure, I'm not super into horror fictions. Please don't come for my bones. Most of these books (re all of them) are only tangentially related to the season. Please pin that on my lack of savvy in the horror genre and not me putting no thought into theme.
Anyway, here's the list of books that I shall read (hopefully) this lovely, lovely month.
- The Ship Who Sang by Anne McCaffrey
- Prince Caspian by CS Lewis
- Middlegame by Seanan McGuire
- Rosemary and Rue by Seanan McGuire
- Luster by Raven Leilani
- Bunny by Mona Awad
- Afrofuturism: The World of Black Scifi and Fantasy Culture by Ytasha L Womack
- Sleepwalking by Meg Wolitzer
- White Rage by Carol Anderson
Several of these books were recs from Youtuber Paperbackdreams, a channel I just found and that I love. Shout out to her and also Nayareadsandsmiles, the gal who starting me on this book quest. And for introducing me to Seanan McGuire. I cannot wait for the next Wayward Children book to come out so that I may read it. (I will talk about those later)
Tragically for my gay little hands, all but two of these are ebooks. Does that save shelf space? Yeah. Do I still want to smell the books? Also yeah.
See you at the end of the month (and also periodically throughout as I update you on the books I've finished)!
Happy Reading y'all 🎃
