Spooky Ghost Book-a-thon

 Hey, hi, hello there.

While I was working on wrapping up what I read in September I thought to myself "hm, I don't really have a lot of spooky horror novels on my October TBR list."

Truly a tragedy. Now, I'm not super into horror or suspense. I never really got into it as a kid. Trash fantasy from the 1980s is my emotional support garbage. Neil Gaiman is basically the only spooky stuff I've read and really enjoyed.

So I decided it was high time to branch out a little. Hence this update.

Towards the end of the month (as soon as I get the books in) I will be marathon reading four horror and horror adjacent novels.

They are:

  • The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan
  • I'm Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid
  • Severance by Ling Ma
  • The City in the Middle of the Night by Charlie Jane Anders
Okay, so that last one is sci fi, but science fiction can be horror too. Space is a spooky place and what the human imagination puts there is even spookier. The Forest and Severance are both zombie stories that I've heard good things about and I'm Thinking is a thriller that Kat of Paperbackdreams thought was spooky and I trust her implicitly.

I shall set an actual date when those books arrive upon mine door step.

Until next time friends! Happy reading 🎃
