January TBR

 Hey, hi, hello reader.

It's that time of month again where I bring you a list of books that I'd like to read. Will I end up reading them all? How fast will I deviate from this list because another library hold came in? Will I find another very sad book about a cat? Who knows! I certainly don't, reader.

In all seriousness, these tbr lists are more guidelines. I like having a little structure since it helps me read new books rather than rereading Night Watch and Neverwhere forever. It's nice to change up the genre of book I'm reading. I also have so much unstructured time now that I'm done with school and not allowed to go back to work. Hopefully this time next year I'll be back in the theatre, crawling around on the ground tracing cables and figuring out how Macs work.

But let's get to that list, shall we reader.

January's TBR
  • Gentleman Jack by Anne Choma
  • Grave Importance by Vivian Shaw
  • Midnight Rider by DV Wolfe
  • Chasing a Ghost by DA Ravenscroft
  • We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson
  • Thirteen Storeys by Jonathan Sims
  • An Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz
  • How to Do Nothing by Jenny Odell

Two of the books are here are self-published; Chasing a Ghost and Midnight Rider. I actually know the author of Midnight Rider, so that should be fun. Chasing a Ghost I keep meaning to read and then simply not. Maybe January is its month.

Gentleman Jack and How to Do Nothing are two recommendations from Bernadette Banner and Ariel Bissett respectively. Two new youtubers! Ariel is a booktuber who I started watching recently and I'm loving her channel. She just bought a new house and I'm am living vicariously as she talks about fixing it up. Bernadette is a costuber, and it was actually her recommending I watch Nayareadsandsmiles that got me started on this book blogging adventure.

There you have it, reader, my plan for January. I'm excited to read these.

Until next time, reader 🎃
